New Moon in Virgo on Wednesday, Sept 8 asks us to put in the work to strive for something greater. Like the old saying, you get out what you put in. This is where we must confront where our own lack of discipline has been letting us down. Is our body creaky, stiff & sore in the morning because we're not care-taking it with a physical discipline such as qi gong, tai chi or yoga?
Work
Have we neglected the details that will help our life to run more smoothly such as filing away all those docs on our computer desktop, or perhaps you need to sort out clutter & review where we could implement more efficient systems to work smarter rather than harder?
Self Empowerment
With the sun now transiting through Virgo till Sept 23rd, this is really the best time to implement new routines for our highest good. Having just witnessed our shadow addictions in the last lunar month as the moon (inner emotional self) waxed to full in Pisces some of us felt an unusual urge to drink like a fish (or other preferred escapist pursuits & substances) to avoid feeling the emotional sensitivity & sadness that Pisces evokes from our past experiences, giving us the opportunity to process them & turn our pain into wisdom.
Health
Now, with the sun in Virgo (being the sign of the priest / priestess) we feel empowered in the light of day to take action to counteract our shadowy self-sabotaging tendencies by increasing our devotional, life affirming practices which gifts us natural highs, decreasing our lower self's dependency on toxic highs which deplete us more in the long run.
So this is the time to retrieve the juicer from the dark recesses of the bottom kitchen cupboard & incorporate more 'high frequency' foods such as whole foods, foods containing probiotics like miso & yoghurt, alkaline foods (such as quinoa & cucumber which restore the yin balance to our Western diet calming our emotional state, unlike animal proteins which create acid which elicit a more aggressive / stressful temperament.) Partnerships
Currently Mars (masculine: pos. action / neg. war), Venus (feminine pos. love / neg. drama) & Saturn (the father. pos. responsiblity. neg. oppression) are all in Libra (the sign of balance, marriage & partnerships). The lesson here is for us not to create conflict by being inflexible, creating drama & allowing war (the ego view of who's right) to destroy love. We can diffuse the war of polarised opposites by seeking to meet each other half way & see the other's point of view.
With Venus moving into Scorpio, (the sign of sex / death & transformation) on the dark moon Sept 8, many will ask their lover to prove their loyalty & commitment by stepping fully into their truth & power or it may not just be the honeymoon that is over but the whole affair!
With Mars following suit into Scorpio on Sept 15th we will either see some transformational action taking place or a power struggle will escalate!
With Pluto (Transformation by owning the shadow & ruler of Scorpio) going direct Sept 13 in Capricorn, the day after Mercury (Communication & ruler of Virgo) goes direct in Virgo we are given a helping hand in the form of positive & transformative conversations that offer us the chance to take responsibility by creating positive, practical changes that will stick!
The Reward: should we own our shadow & transform ourselves, the sexual communion with our Beloved mirror & teacher will light up galaxies & should we only manage to transform ourselves but not our partnership, our sexual magnetism will soar, attracting someone who has also stepped more fully into the light of understanding!
With the next full moon on the Spring Equinox (Sth hemisphere Sept 23) being in Ares (ruled by Mars) & sun in Libra this is the time when mythologically the lovers are reunited in what is known as the 'White Wedding'. So leading up to this we see the classic fight before the act of commitment when both scare each other with their shadow as if to say, 'Are you sure you can love THIS?' Which ultimately is an opportunity for each to accept & love themselves more fully by integrating the shadow by taking responsibility for it, so they can receive more love in spite of their shadow.
Emotionally, with the waxing moon (inner emotional self) in Ares (the child / warrior) we may feel like we want to throw off our responsibilities & just be impetuous but it also gives us the confidence to undertake a new adventure!
For those of us in the Southern hemisphere this marks the start of Spring when the seasonal aspects of the maiden & the knight are at the helm, exacerbating a tendency toward Ares immaturity. But given the intensity of the descent into our disowned self we have all been tested with over Winter as we prepared for the cycle of 2011 - (self mastery awakened by the twin flame), many are instead emerging from the chrysalis of Winter, as the magical child, humbled & awestruck at the synchronistic forces that exposed their wounded child & demanded an ego death.
In the Northern hemisphere, this invitation to view the shadow will be heightened by the lessening of light & energy as you approach the Autumn Equinox or 'Black Wedding', when we increasingly see our own shortcomings mirrored back in the other as the days get longer & our shadow increase. Be gentle & do that which restores the light in your inner temple, light candles after dusk & commence a gratitude diary so you don't lose sight of the gifts & strengths in those around you.
So wherever you re on the seasonal wheel, know that we are approaching the sacred balance of opposites & wherever you are out of balance will be shown to you so that you may create the Sacred Marriage within.
Whether you are partnered or single, celebrate the consciousness of sacred union which is anchoring all over the globe this Equinox: with a toast to the bride, (the sacred feminine) & groom (the divine masculine)!

Women's Rite of Passage Ceremony Facilitator Course. Level Two & Three with Tanishka.
The following training modules are for those who have completed the module one Rite of Passage facilitator course.
Level Two: Anchoring Sacred Union Around the Solar Wheel. In this training module I teach participants how to conduct sacred ceremonies for both men & women wanting to consciously understand & embrace the archetypal forces evoked at each of the 8 seasonal chakras known as the Sabbats or Wheel of Eight.
